Land Navigation.
"Land Navigation, or Orienteering, is the military term for the study of traversing through unfamiliar terrain by foot or in a land vehicle. Land navigation includes the ability to read maps, use a compass, and other navigational skills."
So says Wikipedia. And that's what we did today (Monday, 19 June) . . . reviewed (or learned) how to read a map, use a compass and find our way through the woods. Today we did it at the NCO Academy. Later this week we will do it for real on the NCOA's Land Nav Course North.
By the way, the camp commander checked this course out before we arrived at camp. We can do it if we use our training.

On Thursday, 22 June, all four companies were challenged to find four points on the NCO Academy's Navigation Course North . . . not an easy task. It was hot (up to 38*C), but we were in the woods with the bugs.
