Goodbye, Farewell & Amen: The end of JCLC 2013!
Well, it's over . . . the 2013 JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge is finally history. After the parade cadets boarded those busses for one more ride back to camp. Alpha Company fell in right away to pick up their diplomas and ribbons, while Bravo Company set a record changing into civvies before the first sergeant called them to attention and the TACs handed out their envelopes with their certificates. Both companies had to vacate the billets quickly because the Air Force was moving in for their summer leadership school. (Weather forecast calls for cooler temps . . . good luck with that Air Force!)
Waiting for the cadets at Camp Normandy were lots of moms and dads and brothers and sisters (couple of dogs, too!). True to tradition many cadets signed t-shirts and exchanged contact details before hugs and handshakes, then departure. The place was cleared out pretty fast.
Oh, one more thing: One last meal from the DFac . . . a sack lunch. Sandwiches, fruit, hard boiled eggs. Quite different from what everyone has been eating all week, but enough to satisfy until that home-cooked meal coming up!!
