Strip Map to Camp (2019)
See the map at the bottom of this page.
Once you get close to Grafenwöhr . . . follow this strip map to Camp Normandy. Stay on B299 until you reach Gate 4 (POVs only) or Gate 6 (all traffic). Be sure to follow the map!!! Whether you are travelling south from Gate 6, or north from Gate 4 . . . look for the turn offs on the east side. Remember you will be crossing the TANK TRAIL, so watch out for military vehicles!
IF YOU ARE ARRIVING FROM THE SOUTH . . .
Follow the A6 to Amberg West . . . then follow the B299 north to Freihung and Tanzfleck . . . once past Tanzfleck turn LEFT and an immediate RIGHT to Gate 4. Once through the gate travel straight until you reach POINT A on the map. Look for the Camp Kasserine sign on the LEFT; just beyond it is a sign on the left side (POINT C) pointing RIGHT to Camp Normandy, 7 ATC PBO and the NCO Academy . . . turn RIGHT, cross the parallel road . . . go straight through the raised barrier (priority road curves LEFT) and go straight and look for building 3163 on the RIGHT.
IF YOU ARE ARRIVING FROM THE NORTH . . .
Travel on the A9 (north or south) until the exit for B85/B470. Follow B470 towards Eschenbach & Grafenwöhr . . . exit at B299. Follow B299 all the way to Gate 3 (if you want to go through the main post) or Gate 6 (if you want to go directly to the camps).
From Gate 3: drive straight until you reach the "T" intersection; turn right and drive to the roundabout . . . 3rd exit; drive to the next roundabout . . . 2nd exit (gas station on the right); go through Gate 9; one mile south see the sign on the right side (POINT C) pointing LEFT to Camp Normandy, 7 ATC PBO and the NCO Academy . . . turn LEFT, cross the parallel road . . . go straight through the raised barrier (priority road curves LEFT) and go straight and look for building 3163 on the RIGHT.
From Gate 6: follow the sign to the "camps" . . . drive straight ahead until you reach a stop light. This is Gate 9. There are two, two-way roads (the first is the tank trail . . . DO NOT DRIVE THERE) . . . turn LEFT on the second one; one mile south see the sign on the right side (POINT C) pointing LEFT to Camp Normandy, 7 ATC PBO and the NCO Academy . . . turn LEFT, cross the parallel road . . . go straight through the raised barrier (priority road curves LEFT) and go straight and look for building 3163 on the RIGHT.
