MONDAY, 15 JUNE. AT THE GRAFENWOEHR CITY WALDBAD: WATER SAFETY TRAINING
This morning the entire cadet battalion got up early for an MRE breakfast and a trip to the Grafenwoehr city swimming pool. Dressed in ACUs, cadets entered the warm water and learned some water safety skills . . . how to survive in water using your shirt and trousers. This was a new experience for most of the cadets . . . swimmers and non-swimmers alike.
After the training, cadets climbed the ladder to the top of the 5-meter platform and jumped into the water. What a thrill!!! Keep in mind that the platform looks a lot higher from the top then from the bottom! Taking the plunge takes some encouragement for some cadets, but everyone gets a big boost of confidence once stepping off into the air.
